Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This policy explains what information WEPNA ("we", "us") handles when you visit www.wepna.org or sign in as a member, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

If you only browse

Like most websites, our server records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. We use it to keep the site running, fix problems and prevent abuse.

If you are a member

  • Discord sign-in. When you sign in, Discord shares with us your Discord user ID, username and avatar, and, because we ask for the "connections" permission, the list of accounts you have linked in Discord. We use the ID to recognize you, and the avatar and name to build your profile.
  • Steam. If Discord shows a Steam connection, or you connect Steam yourself, we read your public Steam profile information through Steam's official Web API: games owned, hours played, achievements and profile name. This only works for what your Steam privacy settings make public. You can disconnect Steam in your dashboard, and we then stop reading it and remove the cached data.
  • Live streams and chat. Members can stream through WEPNA, and the public Chat Wall shows the public chat messages of members' own Twitch channels in real time. We do not store those chat messages.
  • Content you post. Text, photos, videos, clip links, comments and reactions you submit are stored and shown on the site as you posted them.
  • Profile details. Anything you add to your page, such as a bio, games, platforms and social links.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Session cookie to keep you signed in and protect forms against forgery. It is required for members to use the site.
  • Preference cookie to remember your choice in the advertising notice.

Advertising

We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

We never place ads on the sign-in page or inside member dashboards.

How we use information

  • To run the community: sign you in, show your profile, posts and leaderboard stats.
  • To keep the site secure and moderate content.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To show advertising that helps pay for hosting.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your Discord connections for anything other than the features described above.

Sharing

Your profile and posts are public by design, so anyone can see them. Beyond that we share information only with service providers that help run the site (hosting, Discord and Steam for sign-in and game data, and Google for advertising), when required by law, or to protect the safety of our members.

Retention and your choices

We keep member information while the account exists. You can edit your profile, delete your posts, disconnect Steam and ask us to delete your account and the data tied to it by contacting us. You can also revoke our access any time in Discord under Settings → Authorized Apps.

Children

WEPNA is not directed to children under 13, and members must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in their country to use Discord). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use HTTPS, prepared database queries and form protection, and members sign in through Discord instead of with passwords on our site. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above.
