About DayZ in WEPNA

DayZ is a multiplayer survival game from Bohemia Interactive set in a post-outbreak world. You start with almost nothing and must find food, water, medical supplies, clothing and weapons while avoiding infected, the cold, and other players. Death is permanent for that character, which is exactly why every trade, ambush and rescue feels like it matters.

Much of DayZ happens on community-run servers with their own rules, mods and economies. Several WEPNA members are part of the BIGFATMODS DayZ community and play together there.

Survival basics we repeat to new players

  1. Stay quiet and stay lowNoise and open ground attract infected and players. Move through tree lines and avoid skylines.
  2. Water and food firstKeep a bottle and something edible on you at all times. Panic-looting while starving ends runs.
  3. Treat strangers carefullySome players help, some rob you. Decide in advance how you handle first contact, and agree it with your group.
  4. Pack a repair kitBandages, a way to purify water and spare ammunition are worth more than a single great weapon.
  5. Tell the storyThe best DayZ moments are unscripted. Share them in the feed with #dayz.
